Racist ! I think not. Its pass time that we work together for a better cause of feeding fresh vegetables to our people and others. Big Box Stores are killing us. I’m looking for some BKF to support them. May The Most High continue to bless them.

Just because you can give small little anecdotes as to what she “could” mean by her title, but the FACT is is that she said “Meet the Farmer Helping Black Kentuckians Return to Their Agricultural Roots” is insanely easy to misinterpret as racist. never once did i say she was racist or the article. The article is great, but the title is just really offensive out of context.

First off… Not every black person is from slavery… That story they tell you in school was a lie!! Do your research! This is our land!

Wow, do you honestly believe that African people didn’t know anything about farming before they got trafficked into slavery? Or are you just being a knee-jerk contrarian because it’s fun on the internet?

People smuggled seeds for foods like okra and black-eyed peas with them when they got taken in hopes that those plants would help them survive whatever terrible things they knew were coming. They then figured out how to grow these mostly tropical plants in a totally new climate that includes *winter* and got them to thrive. It’s that resilience and ingenuity that these farmers are talking about when they reference ‘agricultural roots’

Also, how many people in modern society don’t have agricultural roots? I bet you do, unless you directly descended from persistence hunters or arctic whalers

Their “agricultural roots” is slavery so saying “Meet the Farmer Helping Black Kentuckians Return to Their Agricultural Roots” might offend some people (me included)
